“Gran Festival Flamenco" returns to the Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona) starting in May with the production “Carmen, Carmen, Carmen”.

Gran Festival Flamenco" returns to the Palau de la Música Catalana (Barcelona) starting in May with the production “Carmen, Carmen, Carmen”. The performance pays tribute to the legendary flamenco dancer Carmen Amaya with three acts: “Lejanas Raíces” (Deep Roots), “Carmen y su tiempo” (Carmen and Her Time) and “Lazos flamencos de Andalucía” (Flamenco connections in Andalusia). Witness the artistry, passion, and intensity of flamenco firsthand. The show “Carmen, Carmen, Carmen” is produced by Tablao Flamenco Cordobes, a historical tablao in Barcelona founded in 1970. 

I.  Deep Roots - Primitive songs: Romance, Toná, Debla and Martinete, Seguiriyas, Bulerías and Taranto of Carmen, Crying for Carmen Amaya by León and Solano, Alegrías of Carmen

II.  Carmen and her time - Time for memories (Carmen and Sabicas), Garrotín and Jaleos Canasteros

III.  Flamenco connections in Andalusia - Fandangos: Granainas, Javeras, Verdiales, Naturales…and Huelva, Tango de Triana, Graná, Málaga and Extremadura
 
…And to finish three profiles of women for a tribute through Alegrías (entire company)
